A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR
Guy Chadwick
Welcome to the Arizona Badminton Club! Since our official founding in 1988, and even years before that, we have dedicated ourselves to promoting the indoor recreational and tournament sport of badminton throughout Arizona (see the tribute to Hank Anderssohn in the history portion of this website). We love badminton players of all ages and abilities, and from all nations. Our great Olympic sport is growing, and more players are participating every week. We have an increasing network of places to play with a large base of high school players due to the nearly fifty AIA High School Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity teams that have a season in the Fall each year. We also conduct annual badminton clinics and tournaments, and we are in hot pursuit of establishing a true badminton-specific facility. More information on this soon!

NEW ABC BOARD MEMBERS!!! In light of all this activity we have just added several new ABC Board Members. Joining original board members Dick Abbuhl and myself, are Dick Baltimore, Kathy Furtmann, Francis Hartojo, Chin Khor, Darcy McGrane, Doug Towne, and Rob Waters. Together we have more than 200 years of recreational and tournament badminton experience and a combination of professions, knowledge and dedication that opens the door to a great expansion of badminton activity in Arizona!

I hope you find this website helpful. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to email me at: GCoachGC5@cox.net. We hope to see you on the court!

For open gyms in Tucson, please visit the University of Arizona Badminton Club website.

Independence High School

Thoughout the highschool basketball season, the start time may be delayed until 7:30PM depending on the school team practice. Please do not enter the gym until all players and coaches have exited the gym, and practice is clearly over. We do not want to upset the school administrators and lose our privileges.

Parking is in the Southwest parking lot only. Do not park in the Northeast parking lot (on 75th Avenue) or you will be locked in at the end of the night. All players must respect the grounds and the facility in which they play. Please let us know if you observe anything unusual while you are on IHS property.

McQueen Park Activity Centre

LET'S BUILD OUR DREAM HOME!
Imagine playing at a badminton club with green courts and background, badminton-only lines, perfect lighting and visibility, and all the amenities---anytime throughout the week and year! For many years we have considered building a permanent badminton-specific facility in the Phoenix area that would greatly enhance the recreational and tournament badminton experience. In 1993--1994, we had a temporary facility and learned much from it. We believe that with the rapid growth of badminton in the valley, the time is right to make this vision a reality.

For more information, please contact Guy Chadwick or Darcy McGrane.

Raymond Kwan has made a couple of badminton promotional video clips in relation to this project and they are available for download. Enjoy!
